Record a manual payment
Log a payment you received outside DropHaul, like cash or a check.
Use this when a customer pays you directly, by cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, or any other way that doesn't go through Stripe or QuickBooks.
Open the invoice the payment is for.
Select Record Payment.
Pick the payment method: Cash, Check, Zelle, Venmo, or Other.
Enter the amount received.
Save the payment.
What you'll see
The invoice's status updates based on how much you've recorded: paid once the full amount is in, or partial if only some of it is. If you know the full amount was received and want to skip entering it as a separate payment, you can select Mark Paid instead.
If something's not right
- Invoice still shows partial after recording the full amount: check the amount you entered matches the invoice total exactly.
- Recorded the wrong amount: most payment records can be edited or removed from the invoice's payment history; open the invoice and check there.
- Not sure whether to use Record Payment or Mark Paid: Record Payment keeps a log of how and when you were paid; Mark Paid is a shortcut when you don't need that detail.
