Get paid online

What your customer sees when they pay an invoice online.

When you send an invoice through Stripe Connect or QuickBooks Payments, the customer gets a link to a payment page. No login is needed.

What you'll see

The customer's payment page shows the formatted amount (no "amount due" label), the due date, a From line with your company name, and a Bill To line with their name.

What they can do next depends on how the invoice was set up:

  • If a PDF exists for the invoice, they can select Download to get a copy.
  • If the invoice has a hosted Stripe or QuickBooks payment URL, they can select Pay Now to open that page and pay by card.
  • For a manual invoice, there's no Pay Now button. The page shows payment instructions instead, so they know how to pay you directly.

Back in DropHaul, the invoice's status updates automatically once payment comes through: paid, partial, or overdue, depending on how much came in and when.

You can also copy the Payment Link straight from the invoice and send it yourself, over text or email, without waiting on the automatic send.

If something's not right

  • Customer says Pay Now doesn't work: check that Stripe Connect or QuickBooks Payments shows Active under Set up Stripe Connect.
  • Invoice still shows unpaid after the customer paid: payment status updates automatically but can take a few minutes; check the payment actually completed on the customer's end first.
  • Customer paid the wrong amount: see Record a manual payment to adjust the invoice's paid amount.
