Stop messaging a specific customer
How to turn off text or email for one customer contact.
DropHaul does not automatically handle STOP texts or spam complaints today. Replying STOP to a text, or marking an email as spam, does not stop future messages on its own. To stop messaging a customer, you turn off their channel yourself.
DropHaul does not yet act on STOP/START replies or spam complaints. If a customer asks you to stop texting or emailing them, turn off that channel for them using the steps below.
Steps
Open the customer's chat, then open chat info.
Find the contact in the recipient list.
Turn off SMS or Email for that contact.
What you'll see
Once a channel is off for a contact, future messages to that chat skip that channel for them. Other contacts on the same chat, and other channels for this contact, are unaffected.
If something's not right
- Customer says they're still getting texts: confirm SMS is off for their contact row in chat info, not only muted or archived.
- You don't see a toggle for a contact: the contact needs a phone number (for SMS) or email address on file before you can turn that channel off.
- Customer wants back in: turn the channel back on for their contact.
